Curriculum Vitae
Serdar Ozbas, MD, FEBS, graduated in 1993 from Ankara University Medical School and completed his residency training in 1998 in the General Surgery Department of Ankara University. Dr. Ozbas was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2000 and as an Associate Professor of General Surgery in 2004 in Adnan Menderes University Medical School, Aydın, Turkey. In 2009, he became a professor of general surgery in the same university. Between 2011-2019 he served as a Breast and Endocrine Surgeon in Ankara Guven Hospital, and he was the chief of Breast Unit in the same period. He still works in his private practice clinic in Ankara.
During his academic career, he worked as an honorary clinical fellow in Addenbrookes Hospital Breast Unit, Cambridge, UK in 2002 and as a clinical observer in 2004 in Istituto Nazionale Dei Tumori in Milan, Italy and in 2005 University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Department of Surgical Oncology, USA. In May 2011, he passed the examinations of European Board of Surgery (EBS) and became a fellow of the EBS in Neck Endocrine Surgery. He is a member of Breast Health Working Group International and his main research interests are metastatic breast carcinoma, evaluation of high-risk patients and treatment of genetic breast cancer. He has more than 100 publications and presentations in scientific meetings and has more than 10 review articles and chapters in textbooks.
