Atilla Soran, MD., MPH., FNCBC, FACS is a Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He has a long history of serving as a chair or being a member of many scientific research committees such as ASBD, ASCO, and NCBC. He served as a Board Member of the NCBC and as a member of other prestigious associations such as the ACS. He has more than 360 publications and presentations in scientific meetings and has more than 50 review articles and chapters in textbooks. He has received 42 awards and honors. He is on the editorial board and a reviewer in several medical journals. He was invited to several scientific meetings all over the world as a lecturer and moderator. He has conducted several clinical studies and received grants for his research. He has been recognized as an investigator by the NCI and he has been serving as a CDMRP as a panel member for more than 12 years; he also initiated several studies internationally. He founded and has been chairing BHWGI since 2007. He created international tumor board in 2020. He is world well-known physician for the studies of surgery for metastatic BC and lymphedema. He provides scholarships to international scientists while they are working as research scientists in the USA. He has created a very competitive scholarship in the TNSS. He is currently chairing SIS Education/clinical trial committee and NCBC abstract committee. Dr.Soran was honored as a metastatic breast cancer hero in 2021 and nominated for the ACS Academic Global Surgeon Award in 2023.
